Rosenthal’s TAC 02 dinnerware takes its inspiration and name from the original designs of renowned architect Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus movement and later The Architects’ Collaborative (TAC) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Epitomizing Gropius’s love of clean, modern forms free of ornamentation, TAC 02 is all-white, streamlined, and a compelling blend of curves and angles. The collection is indicative of Rosenthal’s commitment to excellent design.Similar in shape to the classic TAC 02 teapot, this covered vegetable dish resembles an upside-down teacup that appears to float over a recessed base. The domed dish is beautifully balanced by two low-swept, bent-elbow handles, either of which lines up perfectly with the right-angle lifter on the lid. The generous dish holds almost seven cups of vegetables, rice, and more, and keeps the contents warm for serving. Like all TAC 02 pieces, the 54-ounce covered vegetable server is crafted by Rosenthal from fine, semi-translucent porcelain that is conveniently safe for both the microwave and dishwasher. TAC 02 glassware may be paired with the dinnerware to complete the modernist look.
